Maine Tourism Conference 2026 Award Winners Announced

AUGUSTA, Maine – The Maine Office of Tourism (MOT) and the Maine Tourism Association (MTA) have announced the awardees of the Maine Tourism Awards who will be recognized at the 2026 Maine Tourism Conference in April. Awardees represent excellence and innovation in leadership, hospitality, and stewardship across a variety of roles within the tourism industry.
The Maine Tourism Awards honor exemplary individuals, collaborative groups, and organizations whose work elevates Maine as a destination that inspires curiosity and adventure for generations of travelers. Recipients embody the shared values of Maine’s tourism community: responsible stewardship, meaningful collaboration, and the authentic celebration of the state’s extraordinary beauty and culture.
“This year’s award recipients embody the spirit of our brand platform, Forged by Nature. The experiences they provide and the stories they share are authentic, resilient, and deeply connected to the landscapes and communities that shape Maine,” said Maine Office of Tourism Director Carolann Ouellette. “Through their work and dedication, they highlight our beautiful landscapes, cultural institutions, and foodways while inspiring visitors to explore more of our beautiful state. I am grateful for the opportunity to honor these inspiring individuals and organizations through the Maine Tourism Awards.”

The Maine Office of Tourism and the Maine Tourism Association are proud to announce the 2026 Maine Tourism awardees:
- Governor’s Award for Tourism Excellence: The Bay View Collection, with properties in Camden and Rockport, is recognized as the epitome of true hospitality leadership with a steadfast commitment to employees, customers, community, and the Maine tourism industry.
- Rising Star Award: Lady Oyster Tours & Tastings, with locations in Phippsburg and Bath, is recognized as a tourism newcomer who has achieved significant professional growth and success through an innovative business model.
- Leadership & Growth Award: The Maine Maritime Museum in Bath is recognized for its collaborative achievements in growing Maine tourism in a responsible way.
- Stewardship Award: LoveMaineWaters Coalition and the Maine Sea Grant are recognized for their efforts to sustainably grow tourism in a way that supports the local economy, environment, and community.
- Welcome ME Award: The Best Western Caribou Inn is recognized for the exemplary customer service provided by its front-line workforce.
- Maine Tourism Association Hall of Fame Award: Dr. Lee Speronis of Husson University is recognized for his outstanding contributions to the Maine tourism industry throughout his illustrious career.

Awardees will be recognized during the Maine Tourism Conference award ceremony on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. The two-day conference convenes Maine’s tourism and hospitality professionals for workshops and keynotes exploring tourism research, creative direction, workforce development, and product innovation.
