2026 Maine Tourism Conference Announced

January 27, 2026
AUGUSTA, Maine – The Maine Office of Tourism (MOT) and the Maine Tourism Association (MTA) have announced that the 2026 Maine Tourism Conference, a statewide conference for Maine’s tourism and hospitality industries, will be held April 28 and 29 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.
The Maine Tourism Conference is designed to advance Maine’s visitor economy through shared leadership and strategic alignment. Guided by a planning committee of industry leaders representing regional destinations, statewide organizations, and national marketing partners, the conference program reflects the depth and diversity of Maine’s tourism sector.
“Our annual tourism conference is one of the most significant gatherings of the year for Maine’s visitor economy. It brings together the people, businesses, and communities that power tourism across the state to share ideas, learn from one another, and collectively shape Maine’s future as a world-class destination. We’re especially proud to be cohosting this year with the Maine Tourism Association, whose partnership and leadership strengthen our industry year-round,” said Carolann Ouellette, director of the Maine Office of Tourism.
The keynote speaker for this year’s conference is Barton Seaver, a globally recognized leader at the intersection of culinary innovation, sustainability, and public health. From his early days as an award-winning chef in Washington, DC, to his current work shaping the future of food systems, his work has highlighted how culinary excellence and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
The 2026 Maine Tourism Conference will also feature breakout sessions on workforce development, technology adoption, visitor stewardship, and emerging travel trends, along with expert led workshops and dedicated networking opportunities. The conference will also serve as a single forum for the release of the annual tourism report, new research findings, and the unveiling of MOT’s 2026 marketing plan and creative direction.
“By combining MOT’s destination marketing expertise with MTA’s industry leadership and extensive member network, this year’s conference strengthens statewide collaboration and expands access to resources that support Maine’s tourism businesses and communities. The event underscores the vital role of partnership in shaping the future of Maine’s tourism brand,” said Maine Tourism Association’s CEO Tony Cameron.
