AUGUSTA, Maine — Today, the Maine Office of Tourism (MOT) announced a collaboration with the Ski Maine Association and the Maine Snowmobile Association (MSA) to provide weekly snow reports beginning in January 2017. Distributed each Wednesday to regional media and posted online, the reports will feature the best places each week to enjoy winter fun in Maine.

The snow reports, posted on visitmaine.com, will include photography and video from different areas of Maine collected by Ski Maine and MSA. Each report will include information on winter festivals, events and ways to make the most of winter in Maine, with a mix of indoor and outdoor activity options.
"It's important for Maine visitors and residents alike to know that even if there isn't snow in their backyard, we have it somewhere in the state," said Phil Savignano, Maine Office of Tourism's senior tourism officer. "There are so many opportunities for people to enjoy the winter months and we hope that this snow report will help encourage them to do just that."
Modeled after the Fall Foliage Reports that are prepared during autumn, the first snow report is slated for Jan. 4, and will be released every Wednesday throughout the winter season.
Savignano added that social media will play a big role in sharing the reports and they will use #mainewinter on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
